Spring Ball

On the holiday "Good Friday", our usual Friday dance venue is closed... so we have a spring ball instead! There's a dance in the afternoon, and a dress-up dance in the evening. (Dress-up is optional.)

2026: Friday April 3: Tom Roby calling. Live music by Susanne Maziarz and Daev Clysdale. NUUC (enter at the north-east corner of 310 Danforth off Hampton Avenue). 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:30. Most people will be dressing up for the evening dance.
Free beginner lesson at 1:30, with free afternoon dance admission for beginners who attend the beginner lesson [details here].

2025: Friday April 18: Cathy Campbell calling. Live music by Susanne Maziarz and Cassie Norton. At NUUC (enter at the north-east corner of 310 Danforth off Hampton Avenue). 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:30. Most people will be dressing up for the evening dance. Admission $25 for one dance or $50 for both. Beginner lesson at 1:30.

2024: Friday March 29: Tara Bolker and Cathy Campbell calling. Live music by Ben Bolker and Susanne Maziarz. At NUUC (enter at the north-east corner of 310 Danforth off Hampton Avenue). 2:30-5:00 and 7:00-9:30.

2023: Friday April 7 and Saturday April 8: Dances with David Smukler. With live music by Susanne Maziarz and Daev Clysdale.
English Country Dance: Friday 2:00-5:00 (festive dress optional), Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation (NUUC).
"Favourite Dances: What makes them so great", Saturday, 2:00-5:00, NUUC. Please pre-register.
Toronto Contra Dance, Saturday, 7:30-10:00, St Barnabas Church.

2022: Friday April 15: Afternoon dance, 2:00 to 4:00 at Neighbourhood Unitarian Universalist Congregation, located in Eastminster United Church, 310 Danforth Avenue, Toronto. Caller Alan Rosenthal, with live music by Ben Bolker and Rick Avery.


For 2016 through 2019, please see the previous spring balls page. Unfortunately the scheduled 2020 spring ball did not happen due to the pandemic.
